Chelsea turn attention to Morata after Lukaku’s disappointment

It was an amazing night of epic transfer speculation last night after Chelsea were reported to have matched Manchester United's bid of £75m for Romelu Lukaku which Everton had already accepted.

Chelsea were not expected to match such bid which could rise to £90m but they did, to the delight of Chelsea fans who really rate their former striker. Few hours later another report emerged that Manchester United have increased their previously accepted bid by another £5m. With Manchester United ready to go extra length to beat Chelsea to the Belgian's signature the Stamford Bridge outfit have decided to switch focus to last summer's target, Alvaro Morata of Real Madrid.

According to Di Marzio, Chelsea have submitted a £68m offer for Alvaro Morata after losing out on Lukaku and have agreed personal terms which should be seen as better business than Lukaku to Manchester United will cost the Reds £100m plus Wayne Rooney whom they have accepted to terminate his contract and pay part of his wages to make his return to Everton easier.

Although Lukaku’s transfer is reportedly going to be completed over this weekend, there could be yet another twist in the battle for the English Premier League’s second highest goal scorer last season.
