Official: Chelsea sign Giroud

Image
After a month of many speculations as Chelsea searched aimlessly for a backup striker, it's now confirmed that Olivier Giroud is the man as Chelsea announce the signing of the big target man on a 18 month contract with a one year optional contract extension for around €18.5m, excluding bonuses. He will wear the number 18 shirt for the Blues. The 31 year-old French striker has scored 4 times in 16 appearances for The Gunners this season, with Chelsea looking to add an experienced target man to their squad, so as to take some pressure off striker Alvaro Morata in their bid to secure a top four place in the Premier League this season. Giroud said: ‘Chelsea is one of the biggest teams in the Premier League. They have won maybe the most trophies in the last six or seven years. It’s a massive club and I am proud to sign for Chelsea, and I’m looking forward to playing.’ Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia added: ‘Olivier is a proven talent at the top level and we are very pleased ...

Conte: I am not worried about losing my job

Image
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is once again facing uncertainty over his future at Stamford Bridge, at least according to various media outlets in England, who believe that Antonio Conte will not stay at Chelsea beyond this summer. The Italian has looked like a frustrated coach after several attempts by the club to land his preferred players proved impossible from last summer to this January transfer window. Recent media reports suggest that Chelsea’s board is not happy with Conte, who constantly claims that he has no say in the transfer market, pushing all the blames to the board. It is this kind of discord that breeds uncertainty but Conte insists he has no fear of losing his job. He said: "As I said before my only worry is to work, only to work very hard but for sure if you look at the stats you can see that in 14 years, 10 managers were sacked in this club. "But the stats are this but at the same time when you are sure about your work and that you are doing everythin...

Roma's Sporting Director, Mochi: We haven't accepted any bid for anyone

Image
Roma's Sporting Director, Monchi has categorically stated that AS Roma have not accepted any bid for any of their players including Edin Dzeko and Emerson Palmieri who were reportedly heading to Chelsea after Roma had agreed deal for both players. Roma named Dzeko in the starting eleven for tonight game against Sampdoria and Mr Monchi used the opportunity to address the media about the current situation: "Every club in the world would at least consider any offers that come in. We are ready to listen, and then we'll decide. "At the moment Dzeko is here and we are all happy. That means that what we've received so far wasn't acceptable." Chelsea are likely to continue discussions with Roma.

Kenedy completes loan move to Newcastle

Image
Chelsea’s Brazilian star Kenedy has completed a six-month loan move to Newcastle United. Kenedy who is looking for regular game time was integral part of Chelsea's team that beat Norwich City on penalties in the FA Cup third round replay at Stamford Bridge and had a very good game that made few Chelsea fans clamoured for him to stay. His new Boss, Rafa Benitez will be looking for more of the same performance but the Spaniard knows too well that he has signed a star capable of playing in many roles in the team: “He's a player we have been following since the summer. He can play in several positions – as a winger, a wing back and also as an offensive left full back, so he gives the team many options. He has a great left foot + good energy." Kenedy will be hoping to use his time at Newcastle to show Chelsea he deserves to me a key part of the team when he returns in the summer.

Dzeko and Palmieri are getting closer to Chelsea

Chelsea are still locked in talks with AS Roma over signing of Emerson Palmieri and Edin Dzeko this January. According to reports, Chelsea and AS Roma have agreed a joint fee of about €50m but bonus fee remains unsolved. According to Sky Sports Italia, Chelsea will have a meeting today with AS Roma with the purpose of reaching an agreement for the bonus fee for the two players, as Chelsea are reluctant to accept AS Roma's terms which stands at approximately €10m. Dzeko and Palmieri are still likely to be in Roma's squad for their midweek game against Sampdoria. According to AS Roma's manager, Dzeko's availability will depend on the outcome of his meeting with the striker later today: “Everybody is eligible to play tomorrow. Every player that I have right now is contracted with Roma and everybody is focused on the Sampdoria game. As of today Dzeko will start tomorrow but I have to talk to him. We’ll decide together what’s the best thing to do. He is a player of Ro...

How Chelsea can be fixed

Image
It's been two games, 180 minutes of football for Chelsea without a goal and this has let few Chelsea fans worried about what to expect from the team. It's January transfer window time and the club has brought in recuperating Ross Barkley from Everton but it seems there is another grand plan that exists somewhere which can resuscitate the team in the long run, according to HENRY OGWUDIMKPA who posted this(below) on Facebook and I find it worthy to be my first post of 2018. How Chelsea will be fixed for as little as £65m. 1. Bring back Zouma 2. Get in Sanchez for £30m or go for the cheaper alternative in Ozil 3. Tap up Herrera and sign him to partner Kante. A swap deal involving Willian will do it. Mou loves Willian and Willian admires Mou. 4. Sandro for £60m 5. Aubameyang for £50m Out - Cahill - Bakayoko for £40m - Batshuayi for £35m Spent= £140m Sales= £75m Net Spent = £140m- £75m= £65m Give 2 years Loan to Kenedy, Loftus Cheek, Abraham. When they're b...
