Reinis Reinholds will be keen to move to Chelsea claims his agent

Image
As Chelsea continue search for a new backup goalkeeper as Asmir Begovic's future remains a major doubt. The Bosnian goalkeeper is likely to move to another club in summer most likely to Bournemouth, who made a bid for him in January. A new name which has been thrown into the ring as one of names likely to replace Begovic is Young Latvian goalkeeper Reinis Reinholds who plays for Racing Club Roma. The Blues were rumoured to have sent scouts to the 19-year-old's Racing Club Roma's 2-1 win over Robur Siena at the weekend in Lega Pro, the third tier of Italian football. His agent, Camillo Autieri, confirms that the young goalkeeper will welcome the idea of moving to Chelsea in the summer but maintained that he has not been officially contacted by Chelsea. Speaking to football.london, Autieri said: “For sure Chelsea's rumours sounds good for us. Chelsea is great club and English football is wonderful. “I know the goalkeeper trainer in Chelsea, Gianluca S...

Chinese Club chief admits making move for Costa

Image
Finally there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel regarding Diego Costa much publicized interest from China in January transfer window. French outlet SFR Sport reported last weekend that Chelsea rejected a world-record £90million bid from the Chinese Super League club for Diego Costa in January. It is claimed the 28-year-old was offered a salary of £85m across three seasons, which Costa was ready to take. Tianjin Quanjian owner Shu Yusuf has come out to confirm their interest in the striker earlier in January and also possibly in the summer. “Theoretically speaking, there is no limit on transfer budget in the summer. We can target whoever we want Shu Yuhui said. "But on several occasions, our targets are reluctant to join us. “We made an attempt for Pato last year but he is not willing to come because our club was still in second division then. After we get promoted, he came. “We also approached Diego Costa and other stars. It remains to be seen who will...

Fabregas: I never wanted to leave Chelsea

Image
Chelsea star midfielder, Cesc Fabregas has retreated that he never contemplated leaving Chelsea when he was not playing. Fabregas lost his position to Matic and Kante but it looks like the Spaniard is fast gaining ground on those two players especially Nemanja Matic. Fabregas started with Kante in Chelsea's midfield in his 300th Premier League appearance and had one of his best performances in a Chelsea shirt and the assist king can only which for more. The Chelsea midfielder said: “Experience and maturity gives you this because in the beginning when I didn’t play, I told people not even to speak to me because I was really upset. “But that changes with time. Age, maturity and experience helps you understand that the most important thing is always the team. “Don’t get me wrong, I want to play. Every football player wants to play every single minute but sometimes you have to fight for it. Sometimes the easy way is to escap...

Conte hails Fabregas for his performance against Swansea

Image
Chelsea boss, Antonio Conte has hailed the contributions of Cesc Fabregas in Chelsea's team either as a starter or as a substitute. Fabregas posted another fine performance which he capped with a goal including hitting the cross bar and forcing Fabianski to make a great save. Cesc Fabregas could only dream of starting two games in a row is succeeding in making team selection difficult for manager, Antonio Conte. Conte said: “Cesc played a really good game, but it's important for me to have these solutions and also to analyse the games, game by game, to understand when we need to have a player with more quality (on the ball), and to lose something in height (and physique). For me, I consider Nemanja a top player, and also Kante, but also Fabregas. He'sa really good player. "I'm really pleased to see him in this form despite not starting the last game in the league. This is the right way to continue. The other example is Pedro an...

Conte satisfied with Chelsea display against Swansea

Image
Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte left Stamford Bridge tonight a happy man after Chelsea overcome a little scare and put away Swansea City 3-1. The win further solidify Chelsea's position at the top of the English Premier League with 11 points ahead of Manchester City who have played a game less. Conte is satisfied and cautious at the same time: “I'm satisfied with the performance of the team. I think we played very well, and we created many chances to score goals. For sure, it wasn't easy to score against Swansea. Above all because, in the last period after Paul Clement came in, he had a great impact on the team and created a different danger to Liverpool and Manchester City. But today we dominated the game, created many chances to score the goals. I don't remember one moment where we suffered in the game. We played, first half, really well and it was a pity to concede the goal at the end of the half. Maybe the time was finished, but in this case you must pay attent...

Di Matteo reveals Conte’s secret at Chelsea

Image
Chelsea Legend and Champions League winning manager Roberto Di Matteo has revealed different reason why Antonio Conte’s Chelsea is so good at the moment. Many Pundits have lean unto 3-4-3 system as the reason for Chelsea's domination of the league this season but Di Matteo believes that Antonio Conte’s man management style is the key to their consistency this season as he hails his fellow country man as a great motivator. Di Matteo said: “Chelsea are a very good team," Di Matteo told The Sun. "After the first part of the season, when Antonio needed some time to study well his squad, he has made changes and the team now plays in his style. “Players have adapted very well and, since then, Conte has started to grind the opponents and to take many points. “They are very hard to beat. They give their opponents very few chances and they play with a lot of quality. “But the key is knowing how to motivate players and how to build up a group that becomes a team...

Cesc Fabregas: I will be at Chelsea next season 100%

Image
It has been a difficult period for Cesc Fabregas at Chelsea as coach Antonio Conte prefers more aggressive and mobile midfielders which gives the nod to Ngolo Kante and Nemanja Matic leaving Fabregas living on scraps, mainly as second half substitute or a start in less fancied EFL and FA Cup matches. The Spaniard remains upbeat about his future and vows to remain at SW6 next season. Asked if he sees himself at Chelsea next season, he said: "100 per cent. I am not thinking about anything else than challenging myself here. The situation from six months ago to now has changed massively. "From the beginning it has been a big challenge and there are always rumours, you cannot stop that, but I don't even care what people say. Not for one second did I want to leave. "Sometimes it's so easy, you don't play two games, you get frustrated and upset and want to move somewhere else, but for me it's the opposite; I want to challenge myself. ...

Swansea boss, Paul Clement: Chelsea ready to dominate English Football for years

Image
Chelsea will hope to increase their points tally in the English Premier League when they take on resurgent Swansea City under former Chelsea assistant coach, Paul Clement at Stamford Bridge this afternoon. Paul and his team will also be hoping to produce similar performance they had when they went to Manchester City and Liverpool even as he recognized Chelsea's domination of the league already more than when he was still at Stamford Bridge and warmed that it's just  the beginning. Clement said:  ‘What I remember about that season is how mature and strong the team was. Cech, Terry, Ballack, Lampard, Essien, Drogba – all strong characters. ‘They were right at their peak at that point. This is a younger team, a much younger team than when I was involved. ‘That’s not good news for a lot of the other clubs because you’ve got a squad that’s around 25, 26, I think the oldest is Cahill at 31. ‘So they’ve got a lot of players who are around 25, 26 – if ...

It’s normal that the best teams in the world want the best goalkeeper in the world.” “Chelsea is a top club and, for the future of this team, Thibaut is a very, very important player. That is more so considering Chelsea’s future aspirations in terms of competing in the Champions League next season and winning the Premier League title. You need the best players to compete for the top trophies and Thibaut is one of them.”

Ian Wright: Chelsea's adaptability puts them above others

Image

The Arsenal Legend while speaking to The Sun Goals podcast praised Chelsea for adapting their football to the opponent's style Wright said: "What impresses me about Chelsea is that they’re adaptable to a team coming and trying to do that press and really putting them under pressure. “What you’ve got in Hazard, Costa, Pedro, Moses, Alonso, Kante and Matic in front of Luiz – who everyone was laughing about when he came, they’ve got good players very well in the system. “The players are making the system work because they’re playing so well. They don’t need to be scared of anyone because they’re playing so well in the system.”

Conte: Chelsea need 32 points to be champions

Image
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte remains adamant that the Barclay's English Premier League title race is still on and recounts his experience as captain of Juventus in the 1999-2000 Serie A campaign, where they threw away an eight point lead in the last six matches and eventually handed Lazio the title after losing to Perugia in the final day of the season. Conte said "Yes I remember, and a lot of times I remind you of these situations," Conte said when asked about the 1999-00 season. "In my time as a footballer I had two experiences, one good and another bad against Lazio. "Lazio [in 1999-00] recovered seven points, eight points in the last six or seven games and we lost the title in the last game against Perugia. I was captain of the team and remember very well. "After this game I had to go to the Euros with the national team and I didn't sleep for six days because it was a shock for me to lose the title. "In another situation [in 2001-02]...

Conte reveals his secret to success

Image
As Chelsea prepare to play Swansea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte took time to chat with Chelsea Pitch Owners, the company with the freehold of the land on which Stamford Bridge stands. Conte basically revealed one of the main reasons for Chelsea's successful campaign so far. Conte said: 'I think to win, not only one game, but to win… not one [battle] but the whole war it is important to create a good spirit,' he said. 'To create a team, and to try to exploit every single player, the talent of every single player in the best way. 'And for this reason to find the right solution, the right system, to create a family spirit, a good spirit. And then in the negative moments it's important to have a family. If you have a family, you solve the situation and then can go forward. I think this is very important to win the league: to create a team, to create a good spirit with your team, and for sure to have good players.'

Moussa Dembélé to Chelsea is almost done according to Craig Burnley

Image
Moussa Dembélé to Chelsea rumours have refused to go way as we approach the summer transfer windows. In January, rumours had that Chelsea made a bid of £30m for the former Fulham striker which Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte denied in one of his press conferences. Now, former Chelsea midfielder and ESPN Pundit,  Craig Burley has claimed the Celtic star is all set to move to Stamford Bridge. He told ESPN: "Scottish football is quite embarrassing at the moment in terms of the standard but he is head and shoulders [above the rest]. "He’s a good player and is young. "Chelsea, I’m hearing, are the favourites [to sign him]. "Talking to one or two guys I know back in Scotland, they said he is pretty much nailed on to go to Chelsea and possibly for around £40m."

BREAKING: Conte agrees Chelsea contract extension

Image
According to TuttoMercatoWeb in Italy, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has reached an agreement with Chelsea to extend his deal until the end of June 2020, with his current contract supposed to finish in 2019. Conte took charge of Chelsea from caretaker boss, Guus Hiddink and has gone from strength to strength. This season Conte’s Chelsea are 8 points above 2nd placed team, Manchester City at the top of the English Premier League and are also in the quarter-finals of the FA CUP where the will face Jose Mourinho's Manchester United. With the pace Conte is moving, there will be little doubt that he could surpass the achievements of the self proclaimed special one, Jose Mourinho at Chelsea. Assuming that the reported extension of his contract by a further year is true, it will no doubt be a huge news and a welcome development as success continues to befriend Chelsea fans at SW6.

I really don’t want to go into details, but for all our major players, we do have interest from major European clubs. “This is not the right time to talk about it. Let’s finish the season and then we can look at our project for next season. Me, the coach and the players are focused on this season.” The Times say Chelsea are getting ready for a £70 million bid for the 22-year-old in the summer but could face tussle from the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Man United and Man City for the creative midfielder.

Tough summer decisions await Conte

Image
Chelsea currently lead the English Premier League with 8 points after 25 rounds of matches. Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is barely 8 months into his job as head coach but the way he has propelled a team that finished in 10th place last season to 1st place with 13 games remaining has been outstanding, befitting of his status as one of the best tacticians in the game, if not the best. It's obvious that Antonio Conte’s main target will be to finish the Premier League as champions and possibly add the FA Cup to make it League and Cup double in his first season just like his former coach and fellow Italian, Carlo Ancelotti did at Chelsea. What ever is the outcome come summer, Conte will be faced by nail bitting, head breaking decisions once again as he mold yet another squad capable of out doing the class of 2016-2017 squad. Starting from the back, Goalkeeper Asmir Begovic wants to leaves the club for another where he will be guaranteed fir...

Paul Lambert backs Chelsea to win league and Cup double

Image
Wolverhampton Wanderers manager, Paul Lambert believes it’s going to take “some team” to stop a “relentless” Chelsea, as he backed Antonio Conte’s side to do the double, following Wolves’ 2-0 FA Cup defeat to the Premier League leaders. “For some team to stop them is going to be really difficult,” Lambert said. “I'm proud of my team because we made this game what it was. We were fantastic. “They're relentless. Some of their top lads didn't play for them but look at their team. I thought it might be a tad weaker but look at that their front three [Costa, Eden Hazard, Willian] alone. It's going to be one hell of a team to stop them from getting both trophies."

Wolves 0-2 Chelsea: FA Cup fifth round

Image
Second-half goals from Pedro and Diego Costa ensured we overcame a resilient Wolverhampton Wanderers to book our place in the FA Cup quarter-finals. After a shaky first half in which Wolves went closest to opening the scoring through former Chelsea Academy product George Saville, Pedro scored his 10th goal of the season to break the deadlock in the 64th minute, arriving at the far post to head home a brilliant Willian delivery. Cesc Fabregas passed up a decent opportunity to double our lead having been teed up by Eden Hazard, but a minute from time Diego Costa sealed the victory with a well-taken strike. Conte’s team selection followed a similar pattern to the previous two games in this season’s competition, although there were starts for Victor Moses, Eden Hazard and Diego Costa. John Terry captained the side and there was also a place in the back three for Nathan Ake. Nathaniel Chalobah and Cesc Fabregas were paired together in midfield once more, as they had been against Br...

Image
Photo Credit - chelseafc.com  Chelsea U-18 were in an unforgiving mood this morning, thrashing Brighton’s U-18 team by 13 goals to nothing (13-0) just a week after they won their third straight Premier League South title following a 3-0 victory over Leicester City. Charlie Brown bagged four despite only coming off the bench for the final half-hour, while Martell Taylor-Crossdale and Luke McCormick netted hat-tricks of their own. Conor Gallagher had opened the scoring after 15 minutes, while Cole Dasilva and Harvey St Clair also found the back of the net on an incredible morning for our youngsters. Paul Merson: Chelsea good to win Cup double

Image
Arsenal Legend Paul Merson has backed Chelsea to win the English Premier League and FA Cup this season as the Blues prepare to take on Wolverhampton Wanderers this evening in the FA Cup 5th round. Paul wrote this in his column on Dailystar: "They are my tip to win the cup because they’re in such a commanding position in the league and don’t have any other distractions. If they get past Wolves today they will have a great chance because they’ve hardly lost a game all season and they’ll have Wembley in their sights. Not being in Europe has really helped them because they’re only really playing once a week and they haven’t had to change their team around. They haven’t had to rest any of their big players like Diego Costa, Eden Hazard or N’Golo Kante because they’ve not had Champions League football to worry about. It’s all about the draw in the FA Cup, so they will need some luck, but who is going to challenge them? Manchester United have taken the cup compet...

It is important to focus on the present. “For the players, for me it is important to focus on the present new messages. “I am confident [he will stay here] but not it is important to keep the great concentration for the game against Wolves. We must go into the next round and then this situation will be better to face in the summer.” Chelsea will have to block offers from his former club, Atletico Madrid and clubs in China if they are to retain the service...

Conte said “I have great respect for him as a manager and man. He has done a great job for 20 years and is doing a great job in the present. “When you are the coach in the great team you are under pressure. We are running more, working hard on different situations that will come up and also working on shooting. So we are doing all these things in training, but the most important thing is that everybody is putting in the hard work. “We are working together for the same things and it’s easier to focus in the games wh...

Lineker: Chelsea could win Champions League next season

Image
England Legend and BBC Pundit, Gary Lineker has expressed concerns about the possibility of an English club winning the Champions League this season but rather suggested that Chelsea could be up for it next season. Lineker said: “Will an English team win it this year? I doubt it. I don’t think we’re quite there yet. Chelsea next season, you’d give them a chance. “But ultimately, we will be a power again because we have all the wealth. Ultimately the big players will come to the Premier League. “It’s just starting to change. Whatever you think of him he was still a superstar when he came, Pogba. I think others will drift here because of the wealth of the Premier League. “We will get stronger. It might just take a couple of years. I’m not saying we can’t win it this year because we’ve got some good sides, but it’s not likely. “I would say City are our best bet to go all the way. They’ve been struggling a little bit in the league. “But they might actually be more suited ...

Owen: Drogba changed English Football

Image
Former England International striker and Liverpool legend Michael Owen has marked out the arrival of Didier Drogba to Chelsea as the point when English football took a u-turn from playing two strikers upfront to playing one striker as is the case today. Owen said: "When I was growing up it was always two centre forwards," said Owen who was speaking in FourFourTwo’s The Art of Goalscoring documentary. "And it was always about how you could work together, how you could link together as a big man and little man. "And I think the introduction, in my eyes anyway, of Didier Drogba at Chelsea, when Jose Mourinho played him upfront on his own, got a lot of people thinking, 'We can get one big man to do a bit of everything'." Didier Drogba can be seen as the man who made lone striker role popular in the English Premier League and went on to achieve legendary status at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea held at Burnley

Image
It was supposed to be a work in the park smooth victory for Chelsea and extend their lead on top of the English Premier League table to 12 points but the team they faced in Burnley gave the Blues more fight than they have had before from any team this season. The Blues opened the scoring through Pedro but the Republic of Ireland winger levelled the affair with a beautiful free-kick. Chelsea were fast out of the blocks, with Pedro applying the finish to a lightning counter-attack in just the seventh minute. Sean Dyche's men put in arguably their best display this season. An equalizer came through Brady's exquisite free-kick on his first start for the club. Despite the draw, Chelsea are now 10 points clear of Arsenal and Spurs, while Burnley are rewarded for their endeavour by moving up a place to 12th.

Mourinho: Chelsea will win the title

Image
Former Chelsea coach, Jose Mourinho has rejected the notion that Chelsea could still slip up in the title race. The Manchester United manager said Chelsea's defensive solidity is enough to see them through.  He said: "Honestly I don't think so. Why? Because Chelsea are a very good defensive team, they defend very well and defend with lots of players, very good players, and are very well organised. "I think in this situation, a very defensive team wins the title with counter-attack goals, set pieces goals, and individual goals from talented players. So I don't think they're going to let it slip. But football is football, you never know." Chelsea are nine points clear at the top of the Premier League and will play Burnley tomorrow at Turf Moor.

Zouma: I could quit Chelsea

Image

He went on to say he could leave if his situation remains hopeless. “Logically, I will wait till the end of the season,” he told L'Equipe. “We will see then. At least I am playing in the cup. “We will have to see how the second part of the season goes. But the most important thing is the team – first of all, to be champions. "After that, we will have to talk because I am young and at my age, I have to play more. For now, I will wait. I am happy that the team is winning even if, at some time, I am going to have to play if I want to achieve my objective of returning to the France team. "They will be talks, but once again, I am not worried about that. For now, it is all about the team.”

Niangollan: I could leave Roma for Chelsea

Image
AS Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan who has been target of Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has admitted that he could leave Roma soon despite his unwavering love for the Giallarossi. The 28-year-old says that if the timing is right, reactions from fans that have been shown to the likes of Miralem Pjanic would not detract him from leaving the Giallorossi "I could leave Rome, I would not give a s*** about the insults,” The Belgium international also talked about his hatred for Juventus in a video which appeared on Corriere dello Sport. “I hate Juve, always. At Cagliari I’d have given my balls to beat Juve – at the Juventus Stadium I always drew with Cagliari against them. “They won the Scudetto against us when we were [temporarily playing home games] in Trieste. I hate them because they always win with a penalty or a free-kick. “I came to Roma to win something against Juventus. If we don’t win the Scudetto we’ll win the Coppa Italia, I tell you that. Against Lazio in the semi-f...

Mark Lawrenson expects Chelsea win at Burnley

Image
BBC Sport's football expert Mark Lawrenson expects Chelsea to continue their league domination with another win at Turf Moor against Burnley this Sunday "I am at this game and looking forward to it. We know all about Burnley's fantastic record at home - only Chelsea and Tottenham have picked up more points on their own patch this season. But if there is a team that can deal with the intensity and energy of the Clarets' play, it is the Blues. They have got people who are scrappers in their team, as well as quality players. This Chelsea team reminds me of the Arsenal side that won the Double in 1998. They were a really good team who would fight you or play you, whichever you wanted to do - and they would usually win"

Chelsea back in for Lukaku

Chelsea are expected to go back in for Romelu Lukaku once more after failed bids to sign their former striker last summer. Chelsea Boss Antonio Conte has made it clear to the club's board that he desires another striker and the club has responded by moving to secure their targets early. Real Madrid's Alvaro Morata and Lukaku top the list of strikers Chelsea are interested in. The list could grow with the sudden availability of Manchester City's Argentine goal machine, Sergio Aguero who has fallen down the parking order after the arrival of Gabriel Jesus from Brazil. Though it's yet to be seen if Manchester City will be willing to allow one of their best players to move to a direct rival in the same league.

Chelsea boss, Antonio Conte is working hard to sign another right wing back as he currently has only Victor Moses as the sole candidate for the position every match. Valencia are expected to cash in on the player this summer as part of their routine drive to offset their backlogged debts.
