Chinese Club chief admits making move for Costa
Finally there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel regarding Diego Costa much publicized interest from China in January transfer window.
French outlet SFR Sport reported last weekend that Chelsea rejected a world-record £90million bid from the Chinese Super League club for Diego Costa in January.
It is claimed the 28-year-old was offered a salary of £85m across three seasons, which Costa was ready to take.
Tianjin Quanjian owner Shu Yusuf has come out to confirm their interest in the striker earlier in January and also possibly in the summer.
“Theoretically speaking, there is no limit on transfer budget in the summer. We can target whoever we want Shu Yuhui said.
"But on several occasions, our targets are reluctant to join us.
“We made an attempt for Pato last year but he is not willing to come because our club was still in second division then. After we get promoted, he came.
“We also approached Diego Costa and other stars. It remains to be seen who will join us in June but I can assure you that the new players will be on the same level as Costa.”
