Monaco President confirms Chelsea interest in Bernardo Silva
Duncan Castle wrote on Sunday about Chelsea's interest in Monaco's Portuguese attacking midfielder before more news outlets picked up the story. Now, The Times have circulated quotes from Monaco vice president Vasim Vasilyev confirming Chelsea’s interest in Bernando Silva to backup their story:
When asked whether there have been inquiries about Silva, Vasilyev told The Times: “Yes, yes. I really don’t want to go into details, but for all our major players, we do have interest from major European clubs.
“This is not the right time to talk about it. Let’s finish the season and then we can look at our project for next season. Me, the coach and the players are focused on this season.”
The Times say Chelsea are getting ready for a £70 million bid for the 22-year-old in the summer but could face tussle from the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Man United and Man City for the creative midfielder.
