Loftus-Cheek says it's the right time to leave Chelsea
Despite still searching for their first win of the season, Crystal Palace can be very optimistic because they have one of the best players in the 5-round old English Premier League in Ruben Loftus-Cheek whom they signed on a season long loan from Chelsea.
The powerful midfielder believes that he was right to leave Chelsea for Crystal Palace where he's enjoying a great season so far on a personal level but knows that a return to Chelsea as a better player is his ultimate goal.
He said: "Right now I’m just literally focused on Palace.
“He [Conte] said I need to play games. Chelsea is a big club and there’s a lot of pressure which I understand. For me, I think it was the right time for me to go away from Chelsea right now and get my game time elsewhere.”
“I’m really just enjoying playing, that’s the main thing for me at the moment,” added Loftus-Cheek who was speaking at the launch of EA SPORTS FIFA 18.
“I just want to play as many games as possible and improve.
“For me right now I’m happy. I know we haven’t made the best of starts, but we have to try and fight – and I want to stay and fight with Palace. It’s good for Roy to come in, and as players we think we’re going to turn it around.
“As players we need to believe that. No one says it’s going to be easy, but we’re going to work hard on the training pitch every day and I truly think we have the capability to turn things around.
“It’s a good squad, we just need to bring the best out of them.”
