Chelsea closing-in on Arp despite Arsenal and Spurs interest

Chelsea are close to completing the signing of 17-year old Hamburg sensation Jann-Fiete Arp, according to Daily Mirror. The young striker had earlier rejected a move to Chelsea last summer, saying it was too early to move to another league in another country.

He said: "It just doesn’t make any sense to join Chelsea as a 17-year-old. You have achieved near to nothing, basically have no experience in professional football. The risk is too high. It would have been nonsense to move abroad and neglect everything else.
Football is a day-to-day business and it can be over any day. But nobody can take away the Abitur from you. On top of that, money must not play a role at my age"

Now The Mirror is reporting that a deal to take the striker to Stamford Bridge is as good as done.

Arp, who has scored two goals in four Bundesliga matches so far is also wanted by other English Premier League clubs like Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham.
