Conte praises Chelsea's performance against Manchester United

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte was clearly delighted with Chelsea's performance against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge. Morata headed home the lone goal in the match which was dominated by Chelsea.

Conte praised his team after the match: "For sure, we must be pleased for the performance of the team. I think we played with great energy, with great passion, with great enthusiasm. I think tonight I saw a lot of positive things, not only on the tactical aspects but above all the desire of my players: the will to fight, the will to help each other.

"When we play in this way, I think it's great. It's great. Last season we won the title and we showed always fantastic spirit, enthusiasm and passion in every game. This season, for many reasons, we started with a lot of problems and when you have a lot of problems you must pay attention. Confidence can go down.

"But I think that, tonight, this type of game... a massive game... to win against Manchester United gives you more confidence, gives you the right enthusiasm to understand that, if we want, we can. To have the possibility to play with the three midfielders, it was very important. That was very important for me to recover Kante and to play with Bakayoko and Fabregas, and to have an important substitute on the bench like Drinkwater.

"This season we are struggling a bit to find the best solution for this team. Last season we found a great balance with the system, 3-4-2-1. But, this season, we changed many players and we have to find a solution game by game"

Chelsea agree fee with Atletico Madrid for Costa

Chelsea Football Club this afternoon announced that they have agreed a deal with Spanish La Liga side Atletico Madrid subject to the agreement of personal terms and a medical. Chelsea bought Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid for £32m and it's believed that Costa will cost his former club £18m more than they sold him three years ago. A Chelsea statement read: "Chelsea Football Club has today agreed terms with Atletico Madrid for the transfer of Diego Costa. "The transfer will be subject to the agreement of personal terms and a medical." Atletico said: "Atletico de Madrid and Chelsea have reached an initial agreement for the transfer of Diego Costa.
