Conte: It's not Mourinho's fault

Chelsea boss, Antonio Conte has refused to smash his Chelsea's predecessor, Jose Mourinho for selling players that are considered today as world class. Jose Mourinho famously sold Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne to Wolfsburg who later sold him to Manchester City for £50m where he has become one of the best midfielders in the English Premier League.

But it's not De Bruyne who is hurting Chelsea most. His Belgium National Team teammate Romelu Lukaku is the one Chelsea are trying so much to put right. Chelsea were reportedly ready to sign the striker last season at the cost of £50m but the current owner, Everton FC were asking for £70m for the powerful striker who has two years left on his contract and has refused to renew it which is likely to prompt Chelsea back in action this summer. The cost of buying the player, Chelsea sold under Mourinho for £28m is yet unknown even though Everton are rumored to want around £80m for him.
That price tag necessitated the question put before current Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, if Mourinho was wrong to sell De Bruyne and Lukaku.

Conte said in a press conference earlier today: “It’s always very difficult to take always the best decision.

“Sometimes this can happen that you think one thing and in the future something different happens.

“In football it’s not simple to give a correct evaluation of all the players as sometimes a player who didn’t play well two years ago, but then he has a fantastic season.

“I don’t think it is right to term them mistakes.”

It's worth noting that Chelsea fans and the media praised Chelsea for making profits from selling both players but today £17m for De Bruyne and £28m for Lukaku look like poor mistakes from Chelsea.

Like Conte put 'it's not always easy to know the future'
