Chelsea finally crowned English Premier League Champions

Chelsea finally received their cup and medals as 2016-2017 English Premier League Champions after beating Sunderland 5-1 at Stamford Bridge. It was also an emotional day for John Terry who was subbed in the 26th minute of what was his last ever Chelsea appearance at Stamford Bridge this afternoon.

Goals from Willian, Eden Hazard, Pedro and a brace from Michy Batshuayi gave the Blues a perfect way to round off what has been a fantastic season.

Manager Antonio Conte was however quick to point out how difficult this season has been and how Arsenal are favourites in the FA Cup Final next Saturday: "It was great to finish on 30 wins. Someone might think this season was easy, it wasn’t and we must be proud to celebrate with our fans and family and it’s great to celebrate John Terry.

 He deserves this, to finish Chelsea with a great win. Now we have another chance to celebrate this season with the final of the FA Cup. We know it will be very tough. Honestly it was very difficult to get this"

On the FA Cup final against Arsenal, he said: "I think this season can become fantastic if we can win the FA Cup, we must find the motivation. At this level Chelsea and arsenal are the same. We lost 3-0 and won 3-1, we have the opportunity to play the third game. It is a great chance for us to find the right fire in our soul to prepare and feel in the right way this game. It is a great opportunity to win and do the double"

"If you tell me who is the favourite, it is Arsenal. They have the opportunity to have a good season with the FA Cup, we must find the right motivation and anger, it will be very difficult. I don’t know how many years Arsenal have missed the CL, we must have our antenna very high. I am not talking about tactics, but motivation and fire in our heart. We have the possibility to win and do the double"

Chelsea agree fee with Atletico Madrid for Costa

Chelsea Football Club this afternoon announced that they have agreed a deal with Spanish La Liga side Atletico Madrid subject to the agreement of personal terms and a medical. Chelsea bought Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid for £32m and it's believed that Costa will cost his former club £18m more than they sold him three years ago. A Chelsea statement read: "Chelsea Football Club has today agreed terms with Atletico Madrid for the transfer of Diego Costa. "The transfer will be subject to the agreement of personal terms and a medical." Atletico said: "Atletico de Madrid and Chelsea have reached an initial agreement for the transfer of Diego Costa. "The agreement is pending the formalisation of the contract between our club and the Spanish international forward.
