Courtois: Chelsea won't allow any more dangerous commercials this season
After Thibaut Courtois' injury that cost him the chance to play against Manchester United at Old Trafford, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte said after the defeat at Old Trafford that he would speak to the club management about the commercial activities that involve Chelsea players.
The man at the centre of the whole incident, Courtois who got injured during NBA commercial shooting has suggested that Chelsea could cease to allow any more dangerous commercial activities till the end of the season.
He told Standard Sport: "I'm sure there will be more commercial activities, but I don't think there will be anything with a ball now so no-one gets injured.
"It was just unfortunate that happened. I have done worst things in goalkeeping drills that might injure me, but nothing happens. It was just silly.
"I know playing basketball doing commercial activities sounds very bad and stupid, but it's what we do a lot. It's part of our job. It's a fact of life in sport that you can get injured, but luckily I only missed one game.
"I was just catching the ball, a pass from Asmir. I jumped to get it like I have done a million times at training and I just landed badly.
"I twisted my ankle. It swelled really quickly and I thought my season was over. But I have to thank the medical staff from Chelsea for getting me fit so quickly.
"I tore an ankle ligament and I think it's incredible after one and a half weeks to then be able to play."
