Mourinho highlights Conte’s secrets to success at Chelsea

Former Chelsea coach and now Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho has highlighted what he feels are the reasons why Chelsea are top of the English Premier League after 31 rounds of matches.

Mourinho was talking to the media during his press conference this afternoon.
He said ahead of Manchester United's clash with Chelsea at Old Trafford “First of all, some guys (Chelsea) are fresh, some guys (United) are tired. That’s very important in football.


“But, for some reason, they are top of the league. It’s not just because they are fresh. It’s also because they have individual quality and they have collective quality.

“They have a certain style of play, they stick to it, they do it very well. Not every team defends with 11 players, and they defend with 11 players.

“Not every team is so objective in their counter attacks. They are very objective in the counter-attack and they have individual players out of the context of the game that can also resolve the problems. So they are a very strong team.”

Chelsea agree fee with Atletico Madrid for Costa

Chelsea Football Club this afternoon announced that they have agreed a deal with Spanish La Liga side Atletico Madrid subject to the agreement of personal terms and a medical. Chelsea bought Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid for £32m and it's believed that Costa will cost his former club £18m more than they sold him three years ago. A Chelsea statement read: "Chelsea Football Club has today agreed terms with Atletico Madrid for the transfer of Diego Costa. "The transfer will be subject to the agreement of personal terms and a medical." Atletico said: "Atletico de Madrid and Chelsea have reached an initial agreement for the transfer of Diego Costa. "The agreement is pending the formalisation of the contract between our club and the Spanish international forward.
